A deal for Dave Matthews

You retire, I won't drive a car. The Dave Matthews Band and the Allman Brothers Band will be playing a benefit concert Aug. 9 at Piedmont Park to raise money for the park's expansion, and they're urging everyone who attends to take public transportation. That eliminates the 'burbs, Matthews' base. 

And don't expect them to leave their SUV's at home.

As for me, I'd rather eat styrofoam than endure five minutes of Matthews' punchless hippie rock. Good cause, though.

I'm always surprised at Matthews' continued appeal (or appeal EVER) and I'm a little frightened that I share genetic markers with someone who considers himself a "fan" (my brother).

Good intentions, though.
