The reviews are in for Britney Spears' "comeback" performance Sunday night, and they're universally negative:
A reviewer from American entertainment magazine EW said: "Britney gallumphed around like a zombie," adding she performed like a "tentative, confused-looking girl who could barely muster the energy to mouth along with the backing track."The Washington Post concurred, describing the act as "disjointed, underwhelming... and plain boring," adding "out-of-shape Spears moved tentatively around the stage, getting totally outgrooved by her back-up dancers."
But not everyone was disappointed. Some guy named Diane said her performance was "better than fine":
I honestly think that Britney is back. I have been listening to the song she performed tonight, “Gimme More”, ever since it leaked on the net, and I have to say, that I was glad to see that Britney was not only prepared to “bring it”, but she totally nailed it with this song. The song is great, and it is pop at its best. Exactly what we want from Britney… a pop princess; albeit a redneck one, is back to claim her throne.
Dust the Cheeto crumbs outta the La-Z-Boy—the queen needs her throne! LOL

LOL, that part of my post is in reference to the song, not the performance.
Way to miss it, yet again.

Your nuances are just too complex for me.

And how dare you insult rednecks like that! Shame shame shame.

If you're a grown person looking for and then downloading leaked Brit songs on the internet, you may have a problem.

I thought you, of all people, would appreciate the contrarianism of Mr. Moody's review.

Of course the reviews were universally negative. She had no true talent to begin with, other than looks. She is basically a hood ornament.
Here is another worthwhile review: http://regularguys.typepad.com/the_regular_guys_show/2007/09/wic-theater.html

I commented that his entry hurt my brain but sadly Diane did not approve my comment for publication. My comments are not worthy of his inspiring blog. I'll have to just satisfy myself with reading his insightful analysis of the world in silence.

I don't know whether this video adds to conversation or detracts from it, but I have a feeling all the commenters here need to see it:

Duane sure picks his contrarian moments wisely.
