The one I hate is: "I want to give my kids everything I didn't have." I always want to ask -- why, did you grow up well below the poverty line, hungry, sick, uneducated? Were you without clothing, shoes, clean water, medical care? Did you have less than 2 toys, no TV, and no books? Chances are, parents who want to give their kids more, more, more -- they already had plenty themselves. Wake up, parents, unless that is, you are talking about giving your kids more encouragement, love, support, care, family time, values and opportunities to grow into adults who understand the difference between a good life and a bunch of stuff.
