Ugh. While I'm happy to see another post-gay ATL blogger [Represent!] the whole SGL thing chokes in my throat. Have you read Mark Simpson's Anti-Gay? Really interesting read.

"post-gay" is a new term for what's been around for years, gay people who don't necessarily conform to the usual stereotypes or who aren't into the supposed gay icons etc.. Nothing new. Our community is incredbly diverse but getting that message across to gays and straights alike seems harder than pulling teeth.

A few years ago the buzz word was "metrosexual," heterosexual men who were supposedly like gays -- if all gay men were into designer clothing etc. which we're not. Metrosexual was just a new word for "snappy dresser" or "dandy.' There have always been straight guys who dress well and gay guys who are slobs.

Well, we've got "Post-gays," "ex-gays" -- next will be "non-gays," guys who have sex with men but who say they're straight!
