Yet they'll still be nominated

The worst candidates always are, despite majority objections:

More than half of Americans say they wouldn't consider voting for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for president if she becomes the Democratic nominee, according to a new national poll made available to McClatchy Newspapers and NBC News.

The poll by Mason-Dixon Polling and Research found that 52 percent of Americans wouldn't consider voting for Clinton, D-N.Y. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a Republican, was second in the can't-stand-'em category, with 46 percent saying they wouldn't consider voting for him.

Oh, it was just so cute of you to interview heterosexual women who say they support homosexuality. I've lived in Georgia for twelve years and these are my observations in regard to how the AJC covers homosexuality: The newspaper is typically full of pictures of male homosexuals. And, they interview female heterosexuals who say they are in support of homosexuals. You virtually never read from heterosexual men saying, "Oh, I'm here to support the homosexuals and I'm so excited." What the AJC does is to try to make males look like they are so important and that females are just so weak. Yes, I definitely see support of homosexuality as weakness. When AIDS was rampant I was so sick of AIDS stricken men running to women to take care of them. I would have said, "Go back to your loverboy and let him take care of you." Cathy

Paul Varnell dissents from gay orthodoxy:

I don't have much in common with a man who want to be a woman. Gays can support transsexuals in their political efforts and work together on areas of common concern (e.g., defamation by Prof. Michael Bailey), but by and large their issues are not my issues, nor are mine theirs. Awkwardly, they embody the very 19th century stereotype about gays we have been trying to overcome for 100 years--that gay men are women trapped in male bodies. Even less do I have anything in common with some transvestite heterosexual man who wants to wear a frilly frock around the house. Fine, do it with my blessing, but that doesn't make him part of the gay movement.

Michael Moore "scrapes bottom"

The New Yorker's David Denby blasts "Sicko":

Moore winds up treating the audience the same way that, he says, powerful people treat the weak in America—as dopes easily satisfied with fairy tales and bland reassurances. And since he doesn’t interview any of the countless Americans who have been mulling over ways to reform our system, we’re supposed to come away from “Sicko” believing that sane thinking on these issues is unknown here. In the actual political world, the major Democratic Presidential candidates have already offered, or will soon offer, plans for reform. A shift to the left, or, at least, to the center, has overtaken Michael Moore, yielding an irony more striking than any he turns up: the changes in political consciousness that Moore himself has helped produce have rendered his latest film almost superfluous.

Why do I continue mocking Duane? As insignificant as he is, he represents a radical minority that believes, for instance:

Sure, there are extremists, but they do not make up a large portion of the population in the countries that we are so eager to wipe out, and justifying the slaughter of the whole to wipe out the few is genocidal, and frankly, our very own holocaust-type situation. Might they attack us? Sure, they might. But why would they? Because we have done everything we could to take advantage of them. And, the radicals plant that thought in the heads of the general population, and then you have a bad situation on your hands. This has been hundreds of years worth of manipulation, and by continuing on that trail, we are doing more and more harm each day.

I'd like to see him say that to a Holocaust survivor.

When pressed, Duane defended his comparison:

Yes I am serious, we have ourselves a similar (notice how I didn’t say the exact same, which is most likely, how you interpreted it) situation to the holocaust, in that WE are causing the death of many innocent people. There’s 700k dead so far, so let’s see if we can get to 2 million!? If you can’t understand how that is even vaguely similar, perhaps you should read it slowly back to yourself until you understand; killing people, is killing people, however you want to spin it, innocent people are dieing because of us. Hitler hated the Jews, and tried to exterminate them. We went after him, because he was an evil MF, and stopped him. But, in this case, we hate the people in the middle east, all because a handful of them are evil mother fuckers, and because they have threatened us.

He goes on to call me "a bitter old queen," "sadistic," "a psycho" and claims I have "homicidal thoughts" (only when I think of Duane). To quote Andisheh, "When will these pricks and assholes stop calling me names !?!?"

Also, if we go by your standards of determining who is an enemy, the Christian Coalition should also be obliterated, because they hate gay people too, and want us all to die of AIDS.

Who  can forget the day Jerry Falwell hanged two gay teens in Virginia?

People who think this way should be villified. The majority want a reasonable, though muscular, foreign policy. They don't believe in the Bush Doctrine, nor do they believe we're to blame for all the world's problems.

Some are on the right, some in the middle and some on the left. Wherever they're aligned, extremists -- here and overseas -- must be rejected.
