Instead of dodging the whispering campaign (started by the Clinton campaign and certain to continue through November), Obama and his supporters should confront the ignorance of the smear merchants. That's why I'm posting this pic.

Dashikis have nothing to do with Islam; they're commonly worn in West Africa -- by Christians, Muslims, tourists from Luxembourg ...

Notice the undercurrent of racism on sites such as the one linked above. If Obama was wearing, say, a Russian Orthodox robe, would anyone raise a peep?

I’m pretty sure the Obama campaign would have heaping gobs of untrue and unfair rumors about Hillary Clinton that they could use for whisper campaigns, if they wanted to play that angle. Thankfully they don’t. And the fact that we don’t see “rogue” Obama staffers circulating Vince Foster conspiracy theory emails, and don’t have Obama surrogates repeatedly admonished by the campaign for bringing up Whitewater or Travelgate, shows a huge difference between the 2 campaigns. One has message discipline and has made it clear to the full organization that certain tactics will not be tolerated. And one has a chief strategist who repeated the cocaine rumor on national TV mere seconds after he said it was inappropriate to reference it. Not hard to figure out who is strict about what’s fair game, and who isn’t.

He responded to my above post with a post on his own blog calling me a sucker for blaming Clinton’s campaign for the Obama picture. But rather than let anyone respond, he disabled the comments function on the blog. He even deleted a comment that arrived before he was able to switch off the comments function.

So much for unfiltered politics.

Sometimes it's hard to be a woman, no doubt. But, as Ryan J. Davis proves, voters have been much more amenable to female candidates than African-Americans. Strangely, I haven't heard Obama whine about that.

There are currently 14 female U.S. senators: Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.), Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), Patty Murray (D-Wash.), Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). There is currently a single African-American senator, Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who is only the third elected since Reconstruction.

There are currently eight female governors in America: Linda Lingle (R-Hawaii), Jennifer Granholm (D-Mich.), Janet Napolitano (D-Ariz.), Kathleen Sebelius (D-Kan.), Kathleen Blanco (D-La.), M. Jodi Rell (R-Conn.), Christine Gregoire (D-Wash.), and Sarah Palin (R-Alaska). There is currently a single African-American governor, Deval Patrick (D-Mass.).

If Hillary loses, it won't have anything to do with her arrogant campaign strategy. Nor will her flirtations with xenophobia and racism be to blame.

It'll be America's fault.

This type of stuff proves we haven't come any further than the 1800s, not that we needed t-shirts, mugs, baby clothes, buttons and hats to teach us about the misogynistic culture in which we still live.

But let's face it, if Barack Obama was a woman he wouldn't be getting the time of day. A female of his age and experience for commander in chief? Military flag officers would be in full scale mutiny at such a ridiculous notion.

Lucky Obama is a bro. A ho his age would be asked so many competency questions she'd likely run fleeing from the race.
